JOB TITLE: Controller                                                                                                                     REPORTS TO: CFO

DEPARTMENT: Finance                                                                                                   FLSA STANDARD: Exempt

JOB DESCRIPTION: FocusVision seeks determined, hardworking, and dedicated Controller to provide the VP of Finance and CFO with assistance on all financial-related tasks. The ideal candidate has excellent math skills and a passion for finding solutions to complex problems. We’re looking for a self-starting, highly detailed professional with global experience managing all aspects of the accounting function.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and the dissemination of financial management reports including internal monthly financial statements, annual audits and annual budgets
  • Manage Accounting department providing information, about all company activities that will assist management in making educated economic decisions about the company’s current and future growth
  • Coordinate financial audits with the VP and CFO
  • Manage day-to-day tasks with junior accounting staff
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and in-house standards and best practices
  • Prepare written budgets and reports in accordance with our needs
  • Establish internal control systems to prevent inaccuracies in financial statements
  • Reconcile accounts quarterly
  • Establish, revise and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Work with department managers and corporate staff to develop financial planning in conjunction with CFO
  • Review financial data on a quarterly basis and consult with VP about problems or discrepancies
  • Manage the company’s monthly and yearly closing
  • Corporate consolidations and typical GL systems
  • Reviewing financial data periodically to ensure fairness and completeness of the data
  • Assisting in tax
  • Preform responsibilities for multi-countries
  • Oversee the activities of Accounts Receivable and the accurate and timely management of all Accounts Receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc.; and quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state report

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience working as a manager
  • Drive and Initiative – establishes aggressive goals and achieves results while setting a high standard of performance
  • Builds Realistic Plans – develops plans, action steps, and timetables for projects and assignments while providing detailed actionable steps for staff
  • Establishes Trust
  • Adaptable
  • 10 years’ experience in accounting roles
  • Public Accounting experience a plus
  • The ability to multitask and work independently with minimum direction
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Proficient in office productivity tools
  • CPA preferred
  • Willingness to work long hours as needed
  • Familiarity with global financial consolidations and compliance
  • Phenomenal time management skills
  • Can work independently and as a part of a team
  • Proficiency accounting packages like Intacct, NetSuite, Dynamics
