Ypulse wanted to build a representative panel to understand Millennials’ attitudes toward their client, a major mobile carrier. Armed with the knowledge of Millennials’ mobile preferences, Ypulse sought a mobile-centric solution that would encompass alternate forms of data collection in addition to typical surveys, in order to effectively communicate with the Millennial audience.
Ypulse partnered with FocusVision and data collection firm, Paradigm Sample, to develop the Mobile Future Forum. The app allowed panelists to participate in every portion of the project from the invitation to point redemption on a mobile-responsive, user-friendly and stylish platform. While the projects included some surveys, there was a high degree of focus on qualitative submissions. For instance, participants asked to share their feelings about mobile carriers by providing a video “selfie.” In other projects, they were asked to share content they found online, such as an image collage or other form. Program incentives were also redeemed through the app.
Partnering with Ypulse and Paradigm Sample, FocusVision used KinesisPanel to create a unique and scalable app with full mobile functionality across panel management and survey platforms. This included mobile-responsiveness from the point of opt-in, through the invitation process to final incentive redemption. The app included support for video and image submissions, and sophisticated technology for all panelist-facing communications. 66% of respondents initially used a PC to register for the project, while 32% registered via smartphone. In the second phase, only 45% completed via PC and 55% completed via mobile, further validating the Millennial trend toward mobile use.
Kinesis was the first in the market to capitalize on mobile for market research, and they’ve remained the leader in this field for over a decade. We knew if we wanted to get this right, we needed Kinesis”
