The rise in mobile participants is widely known, with estimates on the average number of surveys completed on tablets and smartphones now ranging from 30% to over 60% based on the source of sample and target audience. Many survey programming tools have developed strategies to optimize how surveys are displayed to those using a mobile phone or tablet. Dynata, FocusVision, and MaritzCX have again partnered to design and execute a large web research on research study to add to the existing body of research on mobile survey best practices. We explore alternative survey design techniques for grids, lists, and NPS questions, as well as pagination (single versus multiple questions on a page). We assess data differences, data quality, and participant experience for mobile and desktop survey takers.
